Corporate shoot
Corporate portraits are generally people in suits. However, they don't have to be boring or stagnant! By using your surroundings and different lighting techniques you can make a fairly uninteresting photo into something quite striking and eye catching.
People in business trust a professional photographers opinion, so don't be afraid to move subjects about and do your best to relax them. The more relaxed a person feels the better they will look in a shot. Please take a look at my website for more photos and info www.stevebootle.co.uk

Lighting subjects
Nowadays, you can do so much more with artificial light and portable flashes than you used to be able to. With two or three speedlight flashes http://www.nikon.co.uk/, some stands and pocketwizards http://www.pocketwizard.com/, you can throw flash in from different directions and almost treat an outdoor shoot like a studio one. In a dimly lit environment you can use side lighting with real dramatic effect or backlight to give your subject a halo effect, both of which look fairly unique. Also if you use a high sync speed you can freeze subjects perfectly, which is great for doing sport. PR photography
Ever notice how people generally look at a picture long before they read the caption, text or story? An overused, but very true, adage is that a picture tells a thousand words. There are lots of different ways in which a picture can be used to promote a message, organisation or event and lots of my photos have been attached with Press Releases to tell their clients stories for many years with great results.
The best ways really though are to make the picture interesting, bright and engaging. The picture editors job is to find a clean image that tells a story so the better the picture the easier their job.

Expressions and use of light
Getting the right expressions, particularly when working with children, is the difference between a great shot and an average shot. It sometimes makes sense to take a step or two back and wait for the right moment - that way the shot looks genuine and can literally light up a page.
Use of light is also very important, when photographing people or not. The impact lights and darks and different shades make can really make a portrait shot or landscape stand out.

Corporate and PR photography
When companies commission me to do a photograph it is generally because they want someone, who knows what they are doing, to get something different from a shoot. Whether you are photographing a CEO of a big firm or a celebrity, it is my job to put them at ease and get something quirky.

Being organised
Everyone has their budgets when its comes to Weddings and everyone has their different styles, whether its old fashioned or contemporary and modern. My best advice to brides and grooms in the preparations to their wedding, is be organised. Try and get as much done early on as possible - venue, rings, transport, music and of course photography! All these should try to be booked near the beginning, rather than later - that way you can enjoy the build up, which is what its all about. A groom once told me 'its amazing how confident you feel, when you've got much of the planning out of the way'.

Booking your Bar/Batmitzvah photographer
You are invited by the bar mitzvah boy or bat mitzvah girl because they want you to join them in celebrating their "coming of age" - so enjoy the celebration! And that’s exactly what the bar/bat mitzvah photographs should represent, a celebration.
A child’s bar or bat mitzvah is an important rite of passage but also a celebration to share with family and friends. After all the hard work, the planning, the studying and the preparations, it will be a day filled with laughter and tears. Photographs are an important part of any party or celebration and it’s my job to capture every moment and tell the story of a very special day from beginning to end. The photographs should capture the animation and enthusiasm and each image should bring a smile to your face. Through a mix of reportage style and formal photographs I can tell the story of a day filled with pride and joy.

Portraits
As a Portrait Photographer it is my job to keep people calm and comfortable and also to make the experience as fun and pleasurable as possible. I would like to think that customers come away from my shoots feeling that a wonderful time has been had by all and it’s been an event that they’ll treasure for a long time. I believe people find me friendly and approachable, which I think is paramount when working with people, particularly children, as you need to make them feel relaxed and special. As your Portrait Photographer it is my job and passion to get stunning results whether it is a contemporary style portrait or something completely different, these can all be portrayed. And most of all as your Portrait Photographer, the whole experience should be enjoyable.

Weddings
Weddings are a particularly special time. All the planning, consultations and wedding dreams will culminate in a wonderful day – a day that will live forever in your memory, supported and enriched by the images taken. Long after the dress has been worn, the cake enjoyed and as the anniversaries pass, the photographs will still hold those precious moments. That is why choosing your wedding photographer is a very important decision.
Taking the photographs at your wedding is just part of the service that you will receive from me. I spend a great deal of time before and after the wedding discussing with the bride and groom the options available and how their favourite photographs can be presented and I believe most couples really appreciate the input I can offer ensuring that they have special wedding photographs that they can cherish for ever.
